Default CRX HF to SI swap d16a6 in HF

I fixed it thanks to Qfactor.I was using the SI motor harness in the HF chassis. The wire locations are different at the shock tower connections. All I did was cut the white wire on the passenger side 6 pin connector (engine harness side of connector) and ran it to the passenger side. I cut the white wire in the driverside 8 pin connector (chassis side of harness connector) and soldered it to the white wire I ran from the passenger side. Now if you look at the 8 pin connector on the drivers side you will realize the wires aren't connecting to the same colors. I just depinned the chassis plug with a small flathead i grinded down and stuck it in the pin connection holes and they popped right out. Now that i had the left over seven wires popped out I matched them up with the engine harness colors and reinstalled them. You will have one yellow wire left over on the chassis side, I just cut it and wrapped it up with tape. Be careful because there are two yellow wires in this plug. The yellow wire that is going to the light blue wire in this connector is the one that will not be used. Here is a write up

the ignition output signal for the 89 SI Harness is located on the right tower connectors is the retangular 6 pin plug pin #2 white wire.
on the HF 90-91 the ignition output signal is on the left tower connectors round plug with 8 pin plug pin #1 white wire.

just switch the wires from SI engine harness to HF body harness.

Connector 212 HF on right tower 6pin

2)yel/wht reference voltage egr valve sensor (will not be used)
3)yel back up swtich
4)red/yel IAT sensor input (ECU)

need help I also noticed that the tach jumps a little when the key is turned on. I got power at the coil on the positive and negative side with the key on. Is this normal?
Is there a wiring diagram somewhere that shows where the wires at the distributor go to on the ecu plugs?

Code 15 usually is a bad ignitor..

I changed out the distributor with a good one off of my car. Still the same thing. Where does the ignitor wire go on the ecu? I get one spark when you turn the key to the on posistion. Then nothing. when I turn the motor over the check engine light comes on and shoots a code 15. Turn the power off and back on and there is no code.

Why are you posting the same problem in 2 threads?

But I guess you checked that...

Also check and see if your thermostat housing ground is tight. Did a swap a while back and forgot to completely tighten it - same code. lol weird huh.

I have both distributor plugs hooked up. I cleaned the thermastat grounds and they are tight.

did u reset the ecu after u put a goo ddizzy on?? maybe try a different ecu? usually when one component in the dizzy goes bad, the other is soon behind, so if u had a bad icm or coil chances are the other will be bad, but if u swapped dizzys then that shouldnt matter...have u tried those things?

I took the dizzy and the ecu out of a running car and installed them on this car. Still no spark. It sparks once when you turn the ignition power on, Thats it. Is there a difference between the 89 SI harness and the 90-91 HF harness? We put the 89 SI motor with original harness in a 90-91 HF (not sure on the exact year). It should work right?

code 15 is IGNITION OUTPUT SIGNAL, check TDC, CRANK ANGLE, and CYLINDER sensor inside the distributor

check your fuses.. in the motor bay and under the dash. the start signal fuse under the dash might be bad.. It will cause the car not to have spark

I really need to know if the 89 SI motor harness will work with a 90-91 HF chassis harness. Is that my problem? Can I depin one of the harness and change it around to make it work? I can't find anything on this.

Is that all I have to do? The rectangular 6 pin plug is the one on the passenger side right? Do I switch the wires from the chassis harness or the engine harness side?
