What do you mean you "tried" buying one of those sensors? Eithe use one of "those" Sensors, or use the DIY mechanical 02 sim.
Your basically spacing the o2 sensor from the actual exhaust pipe.

Then you did it wrong. Either that or the actual sim is faulty.

hm well thats a pain in the *** i just havent messed with it since cuz i havent had time...where do you recommend me getting one ?
This is not my DIY, this was taken off of EPhatch
Here you go:
CEL Problems - Mechanical 02 Sim
Available at your local automotive store. Spark Plug Non Fouler PN 42009 ($4.99)
You now need to drill out 1 of the non foulers using a 1/2" drill bit. When finished this is what it will look like.
Side by Side comparision of the orignal and now modified non foulers
o2 Sensor inserted in the modified non fouler
Second, unmodified non fouler now installed on modified non fouler
Original non fouler->Modified non fouler->o2 sensor
Fully installed
By moving the secondary o2 sensor away from the direct path of exhaust flow and limiting what exhaust gas can get to the o2 sensor the ecu believes that there is a functioning cat still in the system.
I have confirmed that this works on our vehicles. I installed this piece at 18900 miles with a reset ecu and I now have 24000 on the clock with no CEL.

drilling that damn non fouler was a huge bitch i tried several different drill bits and even a whiz wheel but it kept getting so hot it would start to melt the drill bits

Hahaha......did you get bits made to drill metal? Probably not. Go over to SEARS and ask for a carbide tip drillbit.

question about the test pipe i want to get one but people say that it makes ur car sound like **** is that true and when it is on can u actually feel a little more power or not

Having this done makes a night and day difference. It all depends on what exhaust you have for sound quality.

ha yeah i did actually but those damn non foulers are made to withstand all the heat the spark plugs take on so theyre a bitch to drill
no way man it sounds nice ive got a dc sports header with a megan test pipe and am getting a greddy exhaust but i think its more up to the exhaust you get on the sound and yes the test pipe made a good difference you can tell a lot just standing behind the car and feeling the exhaust from ab 5 feet away
the non fouler idea was close but no cigar...there wasnt room for two foulers so i put the senser just in the drilled fouler and i guess it wasnt offset enough from the exhaust flow not to trip the check engine light...it worked for about a night so i tried to put them on the first senser just for ***** to see if it would make any difference and it wouldnt even fit in the non fouler, thanks for the help tho im tryin everything for this damn thing

Seriously they will fit......there have been many many people before yo that have done this and they all fit fine.
