Default my crx and a question

here's my project 88 Si, B18C with a JRSC, more stuff on the way. right now I just need some help to get the speedo working. my tranny came with an electronic speedo in the but the CRX needs a mechanical cable style speedo sensor. where do I get the right speed sensor for my swap? yes I searched first

ha ha, what up playa! yeah still pimpin CH, just need a little extra info on this one, not a whole lot of CRX guys on CH. I'm getting tired of guessing how fast I'm going also once the speedo is working I'll also be able to get the traction control dialed in which will be fun

how are the clearance issues on the shock tower? belt changes? what about snout pulley to master cylinder? how close are they?

And for the record with that setup and your skills you would deff be a asset on these threads . Not asking you to jump ship , just hoping you share the EF love here as well.

well the simplest solution i could think of is A) Get a speedo that is electronic VSS like EF8/9 JDM or S2000 or i think 92-95 civic speedo or B) isnt there a way to replace the VSS to a cable type? i think you can. Thats all i can think of. good luck/

ha ha, I'm always down to help my EF peeps

the charger actually wasn't too bad. with a B16 engine the charger pulley should clear the brake master cylinder. with my gs-r motor I had to put a spacer between the manifold and supercharger to clear the master cylinder. then you have to beat the **** out of the shock tower to make room for the alternator pulley. I had to go nuts with a 20 pound sledge then the only other annoying thing where the throttle body ends up, in my case it's a little low but I rigged up a ghetto intake for now.

http://www.hasport.com actually sells a kit now so I'm sure they've addressed all those things. I bought a kit off of ebay so I had to figure it out.

thanks, I like the JRSC, I think it gets a bad wrap, for a street car it's great. the only thing hurting it is the lake of an intercooler, but the water injection should help that. there's a company that makes an air to water intercooler for the jackson but they want too much money for it.

Yank out the electric VSS and plug in a cable driven VSS out of any crx tranny.

That should work just fine.

I'm also really interested in that SC setup of yours. I want to upgrade, but I don't want to bother with a turbo at the moment.

hummmmmmmmm, I thought I tried the one out of the stock motor, I'll double check that, thanks!

so you're gonna get a LHT huh, nice! I'm gonna see how my water injection does, if it drops the temps a lot then I won't worry about the air to water for now.

if that doesnt work get the sir cluster and wire up the VSS dont go get the S2000 cluster right away because there is a certin signal amplifier you need to do with it. i dunno exatcly what it is but i have looked into it for my Kswap and it is a pain in the ***.

thanks for the replies, I'm gonna yank the VSS out of my old CRX motor tonight and see if that'll work.

I also just got a CRV crank pulley to up the boost some more, gonna do a little more tuning with that

I still haven't gotten around to the VSS yet, had a problem with the stock Map sensor so I got a new AEM MAP sensor and I've been messing with that. tonight if I can finish tweaking the MAP sensor settings I'll grab the VSS from my stock motor and see if I can have a speedo again!

if you have any questions on the setup just ask. I had to do a lot of trial and error since info isn't always easy to find.

alright, the VSS from my stock motor ain't coming out of the tranny for sheet! so should I just order one from a DA integra since they're cable driven speedo's also?

on a different note, got the tuning roughed in for now with 8-9psi and the car is trapping 107mph in the 1/4. not too bad considering I only got a 2.5 60' from these crappy tires that are on it right now. the tires ride nice and have a good amount of tread left on them, but the treadwear is 320 so they're not very sticky. at this point I can stab the gas in 2nd at 4000rpm and leave two nice lines in the road once I kill the front tires I'm going to order some BFG drag radials, those are nice and sticky.

Get a cable vss from a 90-93 integra, you'll be all set, unless your not running obd-0 then you'll throw codes.

cool, I'm just going to order one now. I'm running the AEM EMS so I'm not worried about codes as long as the EMS gets a signal from the VSS I'm happy.

thanks for the posts!
