Hey I don't myself own a prelude but my friend just recently bought a 5th generation base 5spd. It's mad fun to drive and pretty quick but i was just wonderin if nebody here has a 4th gen vtec lude. Are they as quick as the 5th gens and what's different? i noticed that they had 5 hp less than the 5th gen so i was just wondering if they could mash as hard as the 5th gen's. thx.

 

they are just as fast.

 

if you look at the power to wieght ratio the equal out to being very close to the same i have a 4th gen prelude but i have a jdm h22a in mine and i can stomp a 5th gen with headers exhaust and intake but i really think that it all comes down to the driver in this case. if someone in a 5th gen can drive better than someone in a 4th gen then they are going to win or vise versa.

 

4th gen Si's can hang with some mods.
4th gen VTEC's will simply destroy a 5th gen. Plain and simple. Oh, and don't believe the 5 less hp thing, ratings mean nothing.

agreed, although not much much faster, the 4th gen VTEC will kill a 5th gen any day. i love both though...

 

yea i know hp is one of many factors that goes into it, i just noticed that so it made me wonder if they were as fast, also, is the v-tec as strong as in the 4th gen as in 5th?

 

I agree, i have a 4gen my sis had a 5gen, pulled on her all the times we raced.

 

dude, it's the same. H22 in 4th gen, H22 in 5th gen. VTEC factor is the same.

 

destroy is such a STRONG wordont you think? why couldn't you just say a 4G could "beat" a 5G? JFWY

 

yea, i can walk a 5th gen with my 93 vtec.
