Gsr Brakes From Junk Yard??
Whats up Guys,
I am new to hondas and I am building a 92 EG hatch track car for road racing. I have heard about some people in the SF bay area who have gotten GSR brakes from local junk yards. They told me the junk yards sell exactly what you need for the swap. Anyone out there know which junk yards they are talkin bout? I have tried searching and browsed the norcal FS thread. TIA

Sorry buddy but i dont know where i could send you, but i could however tell you that when i had my 93 hatch i had it set up for the same reasons and the brakes were simply incredible. You are going to love them once you get out on the track, there is going to be no fade what so ever or overheating. i loved them. RIP EG6

yeah they are great little cars, i had mine all set up everything but the motor. man i was spanking people out there with way more powerfull cars. the car handled and braked so well no one could hang it was really funny. i miss my car, i sold it to a friend so i could buy my Ep3 and he fliped the car 9 times 4 days after i sold it to him. ******* idiot didn't even really know how to drive stick but he wanted to go do mountain runs.

That is true you could get ether of those. i got lucky with my swap, the guy i bought it from was doing a type-r 5 lug swap so i got everything even the rear swing arms and everything in the front too.

ok...not specifically GSR brakes. Any integra 94+ brakes will do. I refered to them as GSR brakes because thats what I been heard them call the 2-3 month I have been in the honda scene.

Well i had all the hubs and calipers with the brake lines as well as the e brake cables. but the cables were way to long so i had to get si e-brake cables so that worked. but i simply just took off my entire hub assembly with the rotor and caliper still attached and put the gsr ones in its place. the rear was the same i just replaced the entire hub. i got really lucky with my stuff the guy i bought it from just gave me everything still attached to itself....hub,rotors,calipers,brake lines all in one piece. oh i also had to get custom rear lines but it was only $100

thanks!!! i decieded to buy a dedicated track car for a couple of reasons:
1. The Evo gets 3-4 MPG on the track
2. Evo clutch, tranny, rotors, pads, tires, etc are pricey
3. The Evo is a great track car, but I am a novice and I want to build up my skills on somthing a bit milder.
4. I still owe ~20K on the evo
true true but the cars are so different from one each other. but yeah wheel time is good. i was fortunate to have a lot of track time so my skills have inproved quite a bit in three years.

you live in cal, just check the local classifieds or call up passwordjdm, hmo, etc. imo, just get the 5 lug setup. looks nicer, better brakes, and its makes you JDM y0

I have seen some brakes on the local listing (craigslist). I will check em out thanks! As for 5 lug, I probably wont need that much stopping power until I have ~2 years of track experience under my belt. Plus im going with a B16a, so its nothing too aggresive.
