Tuning question
Alright, I am in the process of building my first SFWD car, I have the engine setup in order, and need to plan on what to tune it with.
I have been juggling these options: AEM EMS or Neptune RTP or ???
I know alot about options that neptune has, or hondata, and others of the sort, I have never tinkered with AEM, but didn't know if AEM for this kind of HP would be a better tuning platform to start off with...and I don't like buying, then selling for something different, so I would appreciate the help

For a serious race car I would go with the AEM. I have used them in my last 2 race cars and numerous street cars with no issues. John Shepherd also uses the AEM if you think you may "overpower" it. AEM is also very easy to work with.

Are there any fast cars with AEM in Hot Rod or Pro front? I imagine eveyone is running Motec or FAST? Correct me if im wrong...
For a Honda I think Motec, S300 and Neptune are still probably the best options.

Just because there's nobody doing it in hot rod or pro front doesn't mean anything. AEM is miles above FAST as far as i'm concerned, and people have gone fast with that. Hell, cuin9sec is going to run low 9's, and he's using an AEM.

Cortney, what is it you think the AEM is lacking when it comes to hondas?
Seems to me it can do everything a drag honda needs.. All the right features are there, but I didn't really like the interface, nor the boost control set up. I also didn't like working with the datalogger.
Quik sol, The job of choosing management is about fitting the system to the user and the application more so than it is about the system itself. Almost any system out there can work with the right tuner.. Without knowing you, your setup and your skill levels, it's hard to make a reccomendation. But the advise I can give you is to KISS and focus first on making reliable power and then worry about flexibility.

my vote also goes towards the aem with either tony's trigger kit or the msd dizzy. however, my question is whether youve ever tuned a car before? youre asking for options between these two like you havent used either one, maybe some insight into your background might help your decision.

thats just what i can think off the top of my head, thers tons more
but, the system is only as good as the tuner, remember that

I will be the first to admit, never tuned a car, and I am not going to tune my own sfwd, I just don't want to blow it up, I know a few tuners within the surrounding states of ohio, that are good with both neptune...and aem...I just wanted to know if the extra options aem offers, are worth using in SFWD...
Also, anyone have good information on this "cam trigger" addon? how it works, and what are the benefits?
