Default Toyo RA1's for AutoX?

I have a set of Toyo Proxes RA1's for the track and wanted to know if they would be good for AutoX, or take too much time to warm-up? Otherwise I have to run on my street tires - Kumho SPT's

They are ok, slower of the r-comps for autoX but still better than SPT's

Yeah they will never get hot even on a hot day. Just to give you an idea. A guy was running them up here and after 4 runs you could barely even feel any heat whatsoever. It was only about 80* out but my 710's had to be cooled off.
They will still be faster than a good street tire depending on the driver.

I've done ok with ra1's on the S2000. On the spec Miata (with RA1's) I was very competitve, fighting for ftd in a local club.

They aren't as fast as the current crop of killer R's, but dependingb on driver, pavement, and weather, not that bad.

Thanks for the feedback. Drove the RA1's today at a BMWCCA AutoX. I won't know my standing for a couple of weeks (they take forever to post times), but I was staying within a second of the front runners in my class. Good tire - great grip.

And compared to the faster r-compounds, they last a LONG time...

Tough little buggers. I put 3 seasons on a set of full-tread RA-1s and they held up beautifully. They are not as sticky as something like a Hoosier or Kumho V710 (what I have now) but they are still pretty darn sticky and a hell of a lot better than a great street tire. I got FTD at 3 out of 5 local events this season with one club in a daily driven Integra on RA-1s. They are also pretty much the best tire you can find in the wet.

On a 40sec Auto X track - I ran a hankook Z211 Med compound @ 3/32 left, no tred - like RA1s but softer and do not wear near as well.

I ran back to back runs within 5 minutes and barely got them a little warm in 60 degree weather.

Wheel spin everywhere with my K20 and 2nd gear all course. S2000s were running 1st gear all course.
