I was in the EXACT same situation you are in, OEM CW lip, wanted to paint it tafetta white.
The Acura dealer here in town quoted me 84 dollars to paint it while my car was already in their body shope for repair. I went with it, got it back today and couldnt be happier!

What I think the original poster fails to realize is that prices at different body shops vary from state to state... heck block to block. Shop around yourself and find the best deal you can. If you still aren't satisfied with that price.. do it yourself. For that price maybe they were going to repair the crack in it.
But like i mentioned.. prices vary. Welcome to a free market.
