Default maybe a lil NOS?

Ok i gots a 06 Lx with only a CAI, and I kno that this might be kinda dangerous...but would a small shot of NOS be ok for my car, or would i be risking a lot more than I might be gaining?

With the hopes that this thread doesn't turn into a flame war
let me give you some advice.

I used to have nos on my 00 civic ex...

Pro's
Increased acceleration

Con's
Possible Negation of Warranty on your BRAND NEW CAR

Possible BLOWING up of motor

Possible police checking the setup during a traffic stop

Not being able to travel in bridges and tunnels with possible fines since its hazardous material

etc etc etc

Yes some of my examples are far fetched BUT... woudlnt even be a thought if you DIDNT buy nos.

I dont get the whole NOS thing you buy a bottle reardless of what size it is or form wet or dry. Then dosent it run out rather quickly or do you have to keep filling it up when its empty or just buy a new bottle ?

How little were you thinking? 25 shot? I think if you go above that, you need to make some engine modifications.

Personally, I am not sure if it is worth it for a flash hp gain of 25. I have read a bit regarding NOS and it sounds really risky for the motor. Then there is all those other things Mike mentioned.

Also, I thought Nitrous Oxide was now concidered a controlled substance because of all the abuse by teenagers? I thought you needed a license to buy it? Maybe not.

Anyway, just one more opinion.

I had a 60 shot of NAWZZ on my 91 CRX w/ ZC swap and it definantly gave the motor a nice kick. Obiviously a decent acceleration increase but after about 3 bottles I started to notice an abnormal amount of oil consumption. When you start introducing N20 into a motor it creates a super hot burn, which in turn puts quite a bit more wear and tear on the engine. A wet system is going to be your best bet as it adds nitrous AND fuel into the intake charge, reducing your chances of detonation.
If you wanna play it super safe, get slightly larger injectors, a bigger fuel pump and standalone ECU setup with two pre-programmed maps -- one for NA and one for when youre on the nitrous. If you wanna get hardcore with it, add a fuel cell with its own inline pump, an extra set of injectors -- this way you can run 110 octane in the cell and have the motor switch over to the high oct. setup when you hit the nawzzz so you introduce 110 along with nitrous--- this would allow you to run a MUCH larger shot, more safely.
With our DBW setups you'll have to get a WOT switch that operates off the electrical signal coming from the TB as opposed to a switch that turns the N20 on/off after being activated by your TB spindle.

Nitrous is an effective way to add a decent amount of HP, but you cant expect cheap HP to be worry free. Cons: accellerated wear of rings/seals/clutch disc, possible detonation, and as mike mentioned probs with the 5-0h. Pros: If you take the time & money to set everything up the RIGHT way you'll have a quick car thats probably wont run the risk of "blowing up".

EVERYONE says..."Get an Si" see, I dont want an Si, I want my Lx to keep up with the Si. And about the NOS...it was just an idea. Ive heard a lot more negative things about than positive. I was just kinda courious if it was worth the risk, but too much stuff can go wrong so

One BIG question: are you an auto or manual?

If youre an auto I really wouldnt do much more than boltons. My auto tranny on my Accord fails even when my car is stock. Honda auto trannies are weak and I wouldnt risk it on anything.
