msd sucks

Default msd sucks

i just got my swap in and put the msd distrubeter on made it 21 miles sheered the pin in it off put a stock gsr obd1 distrubeter in and now getting code 8 tdc can any let know if they have had this problem msd distrubeter is obd2 with a jumper harness to obd1 motor b16 had no code at idel with ether distrubeter only when im going with the stock gsr one timming is on say three out of 4 pully rotations on the 4th one its on the white mark is there a defreance from gsr to b16 the only thing i can think is the crank alingment senser is not in the msd dist.

i just bought it. i found out why the tdc code, the ecu i bought has a crapy ebay chip in it and has a timming advaces in it at 1900rpms thats why it wasnt throughing the code till 1900r's the msd distrubeter doesnt have a crank alingment senser in it.

If the dizzy is for a OBD2 motor it does not have a crank angle sensor as you stated. OBD2 B series have it on the oil pump, Runs off of a pick up gear behind the crank gear.

Could you just put a OBD2 pump on it and use the CYP sensor from that and run the wires to the ECU so it gets the correct signal?
