hey guys, im gettin my vortech supercharger put on tomorrow... any recommendations on anything ill need or any advice on anything, plez leave me one... im pretty sure the fuel upgrades are next... (pump, rail, press reg.)... it comes with 310 injectors... what else?? thx pimpz (i also am gettin MSD put on tomorrow too

First I've heard of someone throwing a vorteh on a R. I've seens a few pics of one on here, but wasn't sure if it was a prototype or what

Since the vortech relies on high RPM to make good power, would'nt it complement the ITR well??

 

yes but a built block would be used. not a stock one.

 

actually no honda setup really goes well with the vortech chargers. They are all peak power. Down low they suck. EX: Most all Si's and GSR's with vortech setups hit 200whp at 6700rpms with a peak power of 235whp and 159trq. Also the trq sucks down low. Most Si's with that power, etc... run like 14's!!!! With a small engine the vortech setups are not that efficient. Yeah they make good peak power, however its never about the top peak power, its all about the power delivery and what they power and trq curve is shaped like which will determine the true potential of the car. Oh and yes I know of 3 people who have done the vortech setups on their R's. One of them took it off after giving up, the other just left it alone and is happy since he would rather not deal with it, and the other has done a lot of custom work to the car and seems to like it.

 

what kind of supercharger do u have rboosted?? the thing i liked about vortechs is that they're good up to 550 hp or so... and i heard that a stock gsr, stock exhaust , everything... had 300 to the wheels with this kit... i guess ill find out in less than 24 hours

hey rboosted, its kinda too late to change my mind, can u still help me make it pimp? it comes with 310cc injectors, JR fuel pump (probably need to upgrade), fuel pressure regulator, (no fuel rail yet)... and ive got the MSD ignition of course... i have a greddy evo catback (think itll be ok for 8-9 psi?), vafc, gaugepod, and gauges... i also have a zex kit which im gettin rid of ... i think ill need headers and a few other things, but what u recommend for my setup.. thx pimp

 

What vortec charger are you using, I know they make one for the GSR and civic SI, but I was unaware that there was one specifically for the ITR. However I know of someone using a SI charger on a B18C5 w/excellent results. Also what all comes w/the kit besides 310 injectors and how much does it run $$$? Sorry for all the ?'s but I"m interested in finding more out about this setup.
