I'M BACK BABY! Just bought a 90 GS sedan for a winter beater.
Picked it up tonight for 1380 with 157k on the clock.
Car originally came from Florida, and has never seen a winter. Body has ZERO rust, but the hood and trunk lid have real bad sun damage. No amount of wax is gonna fix it.
It's for winter though, so who cares!
Forgot to get the records from the guy (doh!) and it's like an hour drive, but he said the following has been done:
Clutch - 2 years ago
Timing belt - ? but it has been replaced
Front brakes - last year
Rear brakes - last year
Exhaust - last year
Car is dirty as **** on the inside, but I'll clean it out sooner or later.
Just bought this in the nick of time, it's supposed to snow tomorrow, and the 337 will never see it.
Only problem so far - gears seem sorta sticky, you gotta really jam it into first at a stand still. Do any cables need to be adjusted or something?
Here's a pic:

The two front bumper signals are busted, one raccoon and one porcupine.
Yea it came with the lame 5 spoke wheels. At least their not chrome...

Think 1400 was a good deal? I dunno.
Will I be able to re-sell it in the summer for the same price?

There are 2 shift rods that go between your shifter and tranny, no cables. There are 2 bushings though, so they may be really worn and it may be making it more difficult to get into gear. The bushings are only like $8 for aftermarket polyurethane bushings made by Energy Suspensions or Prothane. Pep Boys even stocks them now.
You'd probably want to change the tranny fluid too. Use some 10w-30 or Honda Manual Transmission Fluid.

Also check the clutch engagement point, adjust if necessary at the black **** above the tranny housing. Also drain and refill with some fresh Honda MTF, who knows if it has ever been changed. My 300K 92RS has a worn shift rod that is the cause of similar problems going into gear.
The joint on the shift rod where the bitch pin is has considerable play in it. I can move the shifter side to side while in gear because of all this play at this joint. When I am under the car, I can twist the shift rod and see alot of movement before the rod it is connected to on the tranny starts to move. You might want to see if you have alot of play there. A new shift rod is like $55, so I will order one pretty soon myself.
Congrats on the new beater.

I guess they were wrong when they put the motor in the car, too.
1st gen = D16
2nd gen = B18A
Are you seriously going to preach a 90 Integra 4-door is a first gen? Pretty sure it doesn't have pop-up head lights, and I'm pretty sure the VIN says DB1.

Bump for the 6 hours I spent cleaning this POS. What's a 90 DB sedan (5 speed) with 157k on the clock worth? Absolutely NO RUST!

There are no civic's for 300 bucks around here. Only one with in a 50 mile radius, is a 87 for 700 bucks. Don't want something carbed for the winter.
Nope, this Integra is a winter beater for sure. No way in hell I'd drive it in the summer over my 337.

Nice. APR 93 software and I'm rockin 194 hp and 217 ft-lbs @ the wheels. Makes all the Honda's I've owned seem pathetically slow.
I predict many a snowbank and e-brake slide in the GS's future...
Lost the front plate on my GSR twice last winter hitting huge snow drifts. It was fun as hell. Blizzak power!
