the b18c that is the type-r (japanese) i puts out 210 hp.Bolt ons their are none that will add a lot of power some will even steal hp the motor is maxed out from honda(ex a turbo but the motor is high compreshion)and thy are hard to find. The b18cr is the american type r 195 hp.Your motor is the b18c1 170 hp i would just use it and hop it up.

Rebuild the GSR motor you have, you'll be better off in the end.

you could locate type r parts like the cams and the pistons that would help you out.A high flow intake.A high flow exhaust will help your top end hurt your low end.

Sounds like you're pointlessly swapping motors to me. Just do bolt-ons to your current motor.....the "low mileage" jdm motors arent so low mileage anymore. Sure they might say they are, show gauge cluster with 30k on them, but fact is the b-series hasnt been produced in 6 yrs and we've already imported 85% of the nice motors over. Most of the JDM swaps are 10+ yrs old....that alone should tell you something.

some i know in san diego told me that if you fail emissions and get sent to a ref with a jdm motor they will crush your car. dont know if it just myths trying to scare tuners but was told they crush cars because they think its a smuggled/stolen motor. id say just build up gsr.

Wrong ZCME The type r motor is not maxed out in stock form and in fact with just basic bolt ons their is much power that can be made, and they are only 200 hp factory not 210. You can also boost a high compression motor very safly and reliably; it's all in the tune. And personally if the b18c-5 motor is in good condition i would jump all over it. It is a better motor through and through compared to the b18c1. Better ported head, better designed intake manifold, slightly higher compression, and if your getting the tranny as well their is a huge difference their with the lower final drive.
