what kind of turbo would work best in my '91 GS?

Depends on your power goals. If you're not going to build your engine for high boost you'll be limited to about 6 psi... maybe 10 if you're really brave. For that type of boost, a garrett t28 or t3, or a mistu td05 will be plenty. Give some more info about what you want so someone more knowledgeable than me can help you out.
