94 NA LS over heats yesterday, what are the possibilities and what to look for ?
Ok, so i built this na ls motor a while back, and it over heats on me yesterday out of no where. I am in the process of having it towed to the house right now and i need some pointers on what to look for and what things to check right away. The car never had any heat issues untill yesterday. I was how-ever driving really hard on the freeway (which i've done before without any issues) and all of the sudden after i exit the freeway, the thing is steaming from under the hood. I popped the hood and everything looked normal except for the radiator's over flow tank, that was making weired noises and had boiling water in it bubbling.
Not sure if this will have anything to do with it or not but ill go ahead and list a few things...
- oem style radiator (an oem replacement from maybe 2 years ago max, got it new)
- 2 fans and no ac hooked up - last time i checked, both fans would turn on if the car reached a certain temp.
Thanks ahead of time for whoever is kind enough to respond, this car is my daily so i definently appreciate it!

since you stated that your fans turn on, i would start by flushing the system to remove any possible scale build up. then refill and procced to remove any possible air bubbles. i also would straight up replace the thermostat as its cheap and won't hurt, if not solve the problem. check for any kinked heaterhoses as well. also double check your fan motors and relays just for ***** and giggles.

Because i was driving it really hard and this was an all of the sudden type of thing, does that point to one thing more then another, maybe the thermostat? or just because i was driving it hard doesnt point at any one thing ?? i dont know ??
Thanks for the help!!

Once its hot touch the 2 hoses really quick. If one is warm and not hot then your thermo is done...
