So I went to the Honda Service Dept Last night at 8pm.....
My local dealer is the equivalent of Satan.
They are the guys that scummed me over on my original 06si by selling it to michael bolton lol AND after i purchsed a "few" hondas from them...
WELL ANYWAY...
My passenger seat has some "rock" to it... and i checked their website to find out they are open till midnight everynight , which is PERFECT since i work in manhatt. and takes forever to get home.
I called early in the day abou tth seat and told the guy, can i just bring it in so that it can be noted its messed up... so i can make an appt for it to be replaced.
I get there...they take the car right in
TURNS OUT.... one of the techs there I know from here lol
he walks up to my car and is like hey mike
They order me a complete new rail for the seat..
So i figure while they have the car there.. why night get the HDS DBW update
He does that for me and
Let me just say.... WOW
Such a smoother car... personally my engine is still stock.. BEFORE my crossover was WAY more presentable...now during crossover its less pronounced but the car feels more aggressive and shifting is ALOT better.
I'm pretty sad i didnt do this sooner
Sooooo if you HAVE NOT done this
GO IMMEDIATELY... took 5 minutes to knock it out with the tablet and made my car feel so different that i almost stalled at my first light...i even think it lowered my idle
(which means its driving totally different)
to update

Ive gone to two dealers, told them the numbers of the bulletins, explained the process, even had them hook the thing up, and nothing. I tried telling the one that hooked it up that their HDS must not be up to date but oh they wouldnt hear of that... the tech pooch was trained by his masters well to be narrow minded. The second dealer (the one i now use primarily for service) doesnt have a clue what im saying when i tell them about it.

I thought Hondata would only charge $75 for an updated Honda ECU. Also, I'd ask Hondata what would happen if Honda flashed over your existing setup...

Hondata isn't liable for "overwriting" by dealers.

That sucks
But understandable, I guess. Either have a very good relationship with your tech, or never take it in like spoonlongblock

Quick question do the 06 SI's come standard with 1 free oil changed or is that with certain dealerships many people have mentioned getting 1 free oil change. I am at 3,700 miles and my oil life gauge says 30% but i am thinking about changing it when i hit 20% oil life.

Free oil change policies are not factory-supported. It has to be on a dealership-by-dealership basis. Our Honda dealership does not offer free oil changes on any model, unless it's a part of the negotiations for the sale of the vehicle. It has happened before on models they want to get rid of soon, but haven't had much interest in them.
The service bulletin number is 06-052 for the Si's hanging RPM issue. It was posted AUG 08, 2006 on the Honda Interactive network. You need to check if your VIN applies: 2HGFG2.....6H700001 through 2HGFG2.....6H707606.
I always hated the hanging RPM's when trying to shift from 1st to 2nd.

it would get rid of my hondata flash so if you take the hondaata flash at $600 bucks plus the update HDS software $75 you get $675 then add shipping and you get over $700 bucks so I may go in but say that I just want the Campaign done and nothing else, and make sure they put just the campaign on and I will tell them not to do the update for the ecu as I I don't want it.
Dealers are not supposed to do anything to your car without informing you first. Service Advisors can get into a lot of crap for doing things to your car w/o your consent.

This is a SERVICE BULLETIN... to fix a reported problem.
Not a RECALL CAMPAIGN, its either voluntary OR a fix when problems are brought up during routine service.
If you walk into honda and REQUEST it... odd's are your hondata reflash will be toast....
