Not sure what you mean here? The SI does have a 8,000 rpm redline, not 8,500. The 8,500 rpm redline is only after the Hondata performance reflash. The stock redline is 8,000.

The article states a top speed of 146 mph. Is it save to assume the stock SI could do the same if the speed governor was removed?
The engine "looks" basically the same, as do the spec's.
I also notice it has that nice matching shifter boot (Black with the Red stitching).
I really like the red interior and value cover as well. Looks sharp in my opinion. As for the body style, no thank you. Looks like a turtle to me.

First off, he asked for the Japanese Type-R. The JDM Type-R is a sedan. Why are people showing the Euro hatch?
Second, the engines in the 2007 JDM Civic Type-R and the 2007 USDM Civic Si are different, at least in output. The JDM Civic Type-R is said to put out close to 250ps (don't pay attention to the "press releases" because they're not official from Honda). The internet is saying 220ps, but apparently, a few years ago, the goal with this Type-R was to put out 240ps. Instead, they shot to 250ps with relative ease. I dunno if the K-series engine in the JDM CTR is a K20Z3, but I actually think it's a K20-R. The Z3 puts out 197hp and the K20-R puts out 220ps (ITR); why go backwards? May as well start with the higher output engine and work themselves up.
To the original poster, interior pictures of the JDM Civic Type-R haven't been released yet, unless you can find them from the Japan F1 race from last month. But take a look at the Civic Si sedan and it should give you a better idea than the Euro Civic.

not sure but k20a pops into my mind as being type r... but that might be the DC5 motor only..
just because a motor says k20 doesnt mean its the same as another k20, look at the DC2s with the LS B18b1 and the type Rs B18c5... the extra numbers do mean somthing.

Nice.....
Nice.....
Looks nice. I can only imagine how much the mark up is going to be on one of those. Not to mention the availability. I think i should start taking bidders for my left nut. Maybe it will be enough to put a good down payment on it and still only have a 300 dollar payment

How many rhd type R's do you want? The 02-05 jdm rhd Type R's are already here in the US, titled and registered.... if you have the loot to shoot, you can drive one away today!
