Default B block opinions

Im wondering the differences between just a bare LS block compared with a GSR or B16. Im doing a build up and would like to save some money and get a bare LS block instead of paying out the *** for a bare B18C. I just dont know if there are any significant differences in block design

I guess this is a moot question at this point, eh buddy??? But in short...

All 3 blocks are different from each other. LS doesn't have the oil passage to feed VTEC solenoid so if you go VTEC you need a conversion kit.
B16 has a shorter deck so if you want 1.8 displacement it requires a custom combination of parts so forget saving money there.
GSR is nearly the same as the LS except of course it has provision for VTEC. I've heard it has some more webbing also, and the oil squirters.
