Default sohc running rich?

I''ve recently noticed that i've been getting horable gas mileage lately and more than usual carbon biuld up on exhaust. Also smelling exhaust inside car but no visible leaks. Would B&M fuel pressure gauge and regulator help?

either bad o2 sensor when u installed aftermarket parts or the ECu is screwin it up. you have the obdII-obdI harness?

i had the same problem. hx with bolt ons, the car smelled like *** and i got bad gas mileage. turns out my o2 on my exhaust was bad, got an engine code, so i got a fooler o2 sensor and it fixed the problem.

Sorry guys but i've already got a virgin P28 with the obd2 -1 boomslang conversion harness because my secondary O2 sensor went out and it was cheaper to go OBD1 than to just buy the sensor to replace it. Thinking about sending it off to Phaerable to get chipped and socketed for future tuning? any thoughts?

I have same problem, it might be just a simple leak in the insulation, or engine going bad.

I've researched around a bit and heard good things so i'm gonna send my ecu to Phearable and get tuned. We'll see what happens once i get it back and do some test!

Smelling exhaust in the cabin = exhaust leak. Probably on the two header surfaces... regardless, fix it.

Black smoke = fuel related
Put the stock ECU back in and see if the problem goes away... or a code is thrown (probably high on the rear o2). Seeing as though you modified the EMS, you have a good idea to get that straightened first.
