BINGO. You need to bypass the factory transponder.

You will need this part by DEI, as well as an extra key: 555UW

EDIT: And if the dude you had put it in doesn't know that this is the problem, I wouldn't trust that installation.

FYI...when its installed right, this alarm kicks ***!!

It has so many features. I love the 2 stage shock sensor. I turn it on every night when I go to sleep so even the wind will sometimes set off the alarm. Then turn the 2nd stage off in the morning so all the rice burners and garbage trucks don't set it off.

ehhh... there's no immobilizer in a 99-00

Other than wiring... Start the car-> use the remote start-> remove keys, get out and arm the alarm-> use remote start to shut car off-> see if you can remote start while armed.

Some remote starts have a safety feature like this for use with manuals to ensure it's not in gear...

Well i just found out that my car has a honda factory alarm system installed. Do you think this has anything to do with it? The factory alarm system is triggered by the door locks and trunk. LMK thanks!

The remote start has to be set by using the turbo timer by the alarm, other words, while the car is on, take your key out and your car should say running. Make sure your car is in neutral which is the only way it will work. Do not press the brake to turn the car off. As it's running, get out and close your door. Your alarm will set as well as your remote start. It's just a safety feature compustar made so your cannot leave the car in gear. If you try to use the remote start any other way, it will not work.

Yes i know this. The problem is the car wants to start but it doesnt. You can hear the started click and try to turnover, but it seems as if something is stopping it from cranking all the way over.
