is there a way to bypassing remote start features on DEI alarm system?
i am looking to pull the trigger on a hornet/viper(and possibly a ultrastart) pager 2way system, the only problem is that it's listed under autotrans only section.
i don't need the function and i do have a manual trans, is there's a simple way to bypass this function? maybe wiring trick at the installation or disable it with the module
itself?
thanks

ultra start
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...32257
python 900
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...ching
hornet 745t
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-DEI-VI...0.m14
i am looking at these three at the moment, i am surprise to find that much 2 way pager alarm under 200 buck. Could the python be run on the 6 speed car? i know you said i could but i just want to make sure. my sister had a clfford and its been a nightmare to get it running right.
the one i am really thinking ATM is the 900, it seems to have the longest range and i can find them locally for about the same price.
thanks

it has nothing to do with how many gears you have becuase you are only starting the car not driving it. a remstart will work on any auto or manual fuel injected car. (and by any I mean 99% of cars on the road). If you dont want the remstart part that is cool you dont need to hook that up. if you do you are going to want to keep your car out of gear when parked or make a switch so that when it is in gear it wont start. (aka your gf drives in and leaves it in gear you remote start it and drive in through a wall.) If you have never installed one I would say at the least get someone who has to walk you through it step by step cause they can be tricky your first time.

just get a manual transmission specific remote starter/alarm = safe + easy install
it's too risky fitting an automatic specific into a manual
here is one of the companies you mentioned:
http://www.ultrastarters.com/products_mseries.html
from what I've been reading they are the best bang for the buck but that's all opinions. some have also said to look into the newer models they have out because many old stock items seem to be refurbished, who knows. they don't sell direct to public.
