EF ATX tranny... where is 3rd gear? Help!
I recently bought a '91 sedan with 210K on it. The car is an automatic. The tranny goes through 1st and 2nd, then in 3rd gear it wants to rev, it doesn't get into the gear. It seems to shift from 1-2 just fine, smooth as butter! Goes from park to gear fine. Neutral is fine. Reverse works fine too.
Is it mechanical? The car was sitting for 4 years because of the tranny. It doesn't make any bad noises. It just seems to shift to neutral instead of 3rd.
Do you think a couple flushes could help it out? I don't understand auto trannys...
