help! my gas light quit working.

Default help! my gas light quit working.

My gas light on my 00 SI quit working yesterday, so changed the lightbulb and no luck. any suggestions on what I should do? thanks.

Pay attnetion to your gas gauge?

Well, check if you're throwing any codes. Gas light function is related to a bobber in your tank, and I would highly doubt that would go bad. Check if you have a code for your fuel tank pressure sensor (code 91), or P0450 / P0453

yeah the gauge works fine its just the light, and no there are no codes being throwen.

could be some buildup on the line its connected to my buddy had to clean it one time.

ummm yeah.... because the first time it didn't turn on I ran out of gas, and I've ran it very low to see if that was the problem.

That's why they call it an "idiot light." Only an idiot would wait to see the light before filling up . . .

The problem is likely sensor-related.

mine only turned on when i was rly low on gas and on an uphill, meaning if you see it, get to the gas station or you're screwed.......

First step in diagnoses do a bulb check turn the car to acc and see what lights come on if the gas light dosn't come on its burned out if it does come on its not and your problem isn't there.

simple fix DONT RUN YOUR CAR BELOW 1/2 a tank never worry about running out a gas. the gaslight is for idiots that cant see the needle on E
