The tow straps looks like a great idea. How is it mounted.
Would you have a picture mounted?
The BMW / S2000 is what i found as well. Just wasn't sure if they would work.

I used some thick steel cable with nylon shell from home depot. It worked, hasn't had a real tough workout but I did get my car towed like that. Doubled over (like, in a loop/circle) you get double the tensile/break strength.
I'll try to take a pic but until then this is how I installed my to strap. I used on of those boaters 'U' clamps from home depot (the 3k lbs kind) and attached it to my left front tow hook. I then routed the tow strap through the front of the bumper where the factory foglights would go. And just to make sure it stays put, I keep a tie wrap aroundn it and the bumper. It works like a charm even when you being towed off the track

YES? why? The safequip straps come with a flat plate to make it easy to bolt on

Just don't loop an old seatbelt around your bumper beam and out a slot in the bumper cover. A careless tow driver can snap the tow rope tight and pull the beam right through the bumper cover........ask me how I know.
