Default swap d16z6 on d16a6 block

ok this is the problem, i jsut swapped the head on my a6 with a z6 vtec. timed the engine but still using the pm6 ecu from the a6 engine, only because i havent bought the ecu wiring adapter for obd0 to obd1 yet, i do have the p28. wont the engine still run with the pm6 ecu, just no vtec.im just tryin to see if it will start to make sure i have it together right. the problem im having is it will kinda start/sputter but wont idle i have fuel and spark, i made my own distributor adapter from a post i found on here. so i have spark but wont stay running. main relay is workin, it does prime and everything. no ecu codes. anyone have an idea whats wrong???

Maybe you DO need obd1 ecu since timing, sensors, etc on those two are different.

idk, i swapped all sensors over for the a6 manifold, the only thing different is the head and distributor and i have fuel and fire, its stumping me... and i put my hand over throttle body, its sukin air, but when i did that it kinda choked it, and it ran an extra sec.lol if ur timing belt is off 1 knotch could it do this also?

yea i made the dizzy adapter for the obd1 i have on there now, but i have spark but it still wont work with the pm6? its the distributor for the z6, another thing i had to do when i switched the head, i had to switch the timing belt cause the a6 belt was too long, so that means the a6 ecu, timing is different too right, cause the belts are different, like it could be sparking and the wrong time caus eits still the pm6 ecu thinkin it has that longer belt, does that make sense?

Well the compression ratio is supposed to be 10.x:1 depending on the condition of the block and the head mating surfaces, carbon buildup, etc.
