if you were debating on purchasing the 00-01 mats vs the 97-98 mats, IMO you made the wrong choice. As many will agree, the 00-01 all black ITR mats aren't near the quality of the 97-98 mats. I recently picked up a set of the all black and am already selling them. Is that $100 shipped, if so thats a good price. $100 plus shipping is getting more than what i would pay.

I like the checkered floor mats too but I just cant find them in near new or new condition. I just want to get some floor mats in for now. If i come accorss a nice set of checkered I will definately pick some up as well. This guys prices are very good. Picked up the trunk mat, and fog light kit as well.

really? To this day i have always thought that the all black were specific to the 00 and 01s. What is even more interesting is that my buddies 01 came with the checkered when he bought it. Were the all black an additional option perhaps? Were they ever standard in any year type R?

I thought the all black were standard in the 01 and the checkered were optional in 00.

That is correct. The 01s were only ones to come with mats as standard and they were black. 97,98,00 had checkered mats as dealer accessory.

My stock mats are checkered... '00 ITR here. I put in the 2001 mats, and I must agree, the quality is ****.

Still look better though, haha.

I never realized the mats were optional. 00-0009 came with checkered, and they were not listed as extra charge on the window sticker.

But were they INCLUDED on the window sticker? The 01 lists the mats as incluced on the MSRP sticker. I know most dealers (esp Acura dealers) put the mats in on dealer addendum sticker and invariably get 'thrown-in' with the deal.

They weren't standard with my '00, but I asked the dealer to throw them in for free.

Good luck with that. There is a guy on here that said he would pay $500 for a new set of 98/00 checkered mats so I don't think anyone would trade if they had them.

I actually don't like the checkered mats, I have two sets that I don't use. I actually use one set to slide my oil pan on so I don't get oil on my garage floor. I prefer the 01 black mats especially since my dealer can still get them for $70.

So would you want to sell the other set, which isn't soaked with 5W-30?
