help with kyb axgs on my ek..
Well, i got kyb agx's w/ H&R race springs on my hatch. I installed the struts and springs onto my car, and for some reason the rear springs have some room to travel up and down or shake around. For some reason, the shock isnt being compressed all the way down for the tophat to rest on top of the spring. When i drive, you could hear the spring moving around which is annoying as expletive because it makes a loud rattling sound. Any suggestions?
I'm confused. You're saying that when the full weight of the car is on the wheels the rear springs are loose? That's a problem. You messed up on the install somewhere. The only way this could happen is if somethign is binding up stopping the suspension from compressing.
yup, when the full weight of the car is on the shocks the springs are still loose. When i first had them installed, a local shop put the springs on for me. they're the ones that fucked it up. After hearing all the rattling noise from the spring, i took my rear suspension back off and put on the rubber piece that goes under the top hat. That helped and lessened the rattling noise but the noise is still there a little. any more suggestions?
are your shocks fully compressed when the weight of the car is on the ground? Considering the springs are what hold up the car, you're either wrong or the shock is fully compressed and holding up the car on it's own. Now since you say the spring isn't sitting in the top hat the car can't possibly be fully compressing the shock so you've got me confused. Or those springs are WAY too short.
The shock seems like its not being compressed all the way down even with me in the car while driving which gives the spring room to move around. Unless the shock really is too short (which wouldnt make sense because theyre made for my car)

It isn't suposed to be compressed fully...ever, they're meant to compress more when you hit bumps.
Are you sure the sound you're hearing isn't the shock moving around from not being bolted down tight? I know when I put my agx's in I had to add a few washers on top of the perch because there was still play even with the nuts tightened to the bottom of the threads.

i know the shock isnt supposed to be compressed all the way. I meant it as, the shock isnt even being compressed enough for it to rest on top of the spring even w/ the car+my weight (giving the spring room to move around). You have any pics of what you mean by putting washers on the top perch so the shock wont move around. Im pretty sure its not my shock moving around.
