<FONT COLOR="blue">What EK Springs give: 2.75" front, 2.25" rear??

Tried a search for Springs, and for Suspension in this forum, but got NO results!

Currently riding on Koni Yellows and Apex springs. I have the Koni's on the lower perches, but obviously this is not best as the springs are only meant to give a 40mm drop(tho the front dropped 50mm w/out changing the Koni perch.), and so I have the risk of bottoming out as the springs are too soft for this drop, also I reckon i cud have better ride quality with the Konis normal perch.

2.75" may seem a lot, but since they will be designed for your engines, i.e. 1.6L if not he B16(even heavier) they wont drop my car as much due to it being only a 1.4 and therefore lighter front end. I know with H&R Springs this happens anyways as my friend with exact same car as me got a set that r supposed to be 1.75 F and 1.5 R and his car dropped evenly F&R.

So im thinking the 2.75" spring wud drop my front 2.5" or 62.5mm, im down 66mm @front now&want it slightly higher.
2.25" or 56mm wud be just right @rear(currently 53mm)

P.S.Cud my thread title be any mroe precise?? </FONT>

<FONT COLOR="blue">just found H&R springs for the Si on Autodynamic.com for $165 +shipping of bout $80(Im in Ireland remember!) So bout $240 which is slightly more than Eibachs wud cost me here(cept i want lower).

http://209.87.151.155/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=51865-88

They quote a 2.75" drop for the Si. The Si from 96-00 tho, didnt your Si change to a B16 in 99-00?? Either way I think that these seem about right?
the Rear wud be similar? or was the Si only in the Coupe?? i.e. wud i need springs for the Hatch cos i dont see any H&R springs listed for the Hatch.

So,id say the rear wud be the quoted 2.3" which is ok.

The front: 2.75" if thats for an 1.6 SOHC vtec engine then id guess my 1.4 SOHC wud drop bout 2.5" or slightly more? but if its the DOHC engine it mite only go 2.25"....and I want the front to be about 2/5's" or 10mm lower than the rear when the car is empty....

<FONT COLOR="blue">Eibach while a very good springs dont drop my car by enuf, at least not the ones we get over here-are there more than one type of Eibachs? we only get one over here. Eibach on a Civic hatch i know of (which actually has a B16 as its wat we call the Vti which got a b16 whe released) only droppped like less than 1.5" all round.

Tho I do know that they are a very good quality spring.

Neuspeed Race springs
<FONT COLOR="blue">Just looking at them now, but their drop isnt rite for me cos:

Its 2.25" front and 2" rear. While i cud live with the 2" rear(tho i really want 2.25") the front of my car wud only drop like 2" not 2.25 due to the lighter engine(only a 1.4 remember! ), meaning the car is just about even, but with driver in it, lower @rear.

I want a spring that will mean the car is a bit lower at the front even with driver in the car.

I know this is an awkward request tho due to my different engine. And Im not goin proper coilovers cos I cant afford to and I already have Koni yellows which im happy with. And im not getting an adjustable spring - i have no confidence in them.

<FONT COLOR="blue">Also found em here:

http://www.optauto.com/webstore/prod...k=yes&dept=237

$15 cheaper than Autodynamic.com.

I reckon that the quoted 2.75" front drop will be 2.5" on my car? . and the rear should be the quoted 2.3" or cud it be more/less if these are meant for the coupe??

And more importantly-ish, has any1 ever ordered from OPT Auto? Do they ship overseas, like to Ireland?

Autodynamic want bout $80 for shipping

Welli got the H&R Race's there over Xmas, only got round to fitting the fronts last week, will be doing the back on Thursday I hope.

The fronts only dropped about 2.2" im not positive tho....I had hoped it wud go 2.5 and leave no arch gap, but I have 1 small finger gap now! -tho I am on 195-45-16 so does take a fair drop to eliminate arch gap, compared to being on 205-45-16s or 17's.

Im just praying the back doesnt drop more than the front now! Handles better with back about .5" higher and looks better too IMHO but I think it will drop bout the same unfortunately.

And yes, Teh base model EK Civic in Europe was a 1.4L engine. In the EG it was a 1.3 Carb engine. JDM EK Civic base engine was a 1.3L too.

In Irish EK Civics the following were the engines:

Saloon & Hatch:
1.4i (93bhp)
1.5ils vtec (115bhp)
1.6vti (160bhp-i.e. b16a2=&gt;yes we got it rite from the beginnning of the EKs, & the EGs actually-tho theres very few EG Vti's in the country-too expensive new and insurance too high-our insurance works very differently over here-its stupid high)
=&gt; This is not to be confused with the JDM Vti which was a 1.5 SOHC Vtec 130bhp.

Coupe:
1.6ils 105/112bhp(Im not sure which) (d16y7)
1.6sr vtec 127bhp (d16y8)

BTW, how the hell did this get resurected now???
