quick question, my srs light inside is on, dont know if i never noticed it or it just turned on. what is this srs light anyway? should i not be concerned that its on?

 

search srs reset. if it just randomly turned on, and you still have your airbags, you might want to go get it checked out. that doesn't sound like a good thing.

 

the thing is i dont know if it had always been on or it just recently turned on. but yeah i still have my air bags

 

how long have you had your car if you don't know how long it's been on?

 

a little over a year. but i can swear i never saw that srs thing before so im guessing its been on for a few weeks atleast

 

I know it sounds dumb, but it probably was just coincidence. My SRS light had been on for over a year, and I tried to reset it vis-a-vis this link, but it didn't work. One day, I was doing misc. sh*t on my car, and just so happened to fix the fact that my driver's side seat belt was all twisted around. I fixed that just for the fact that it would be more comfortable, and my SRS light was fixed as well.

I don't think by any means that this was what was the problem, but since then, my SRS light has not come back on.

Mine is on. The SRS reel inside the steering wheel is broke. Im not sure if the air bags work or not because it is broken but it doesnt much bother me. I dont know if the dealer with check it out for free or not. Here is a diagram of the SRS UNIT for a 96 ex coupe. (if it shows) #2 is the SRS reel. Could be a lose connection or the unit itself could be bad.

i have a better idea why not remove your SRS system it is B/S anyway dose it save your life? well if you think a armed bomb shooting off in your face at 200mph will save your life and not give you a heart attack then i guess you know something i don't

bottom line look at the statistics they do nothing other then weigh the car down lol....................
