Default Cold Air Intake + Huge Puddle = Unhappy Prelude Driver :(

I live in the NW and its been raining real hard and here I am first day back at work from a weekend off and theres these 2 HUGE puddles in front of me.
I tried to avoid them but this car in the other lane wouldnt let me go over, so I left off the gas and coasted over em.

After coasting over them i put it back into 1st and my car starts to bog and die on the side of the road, right outside my work. First thoughts "NOOOOO my motor! So much for my turbo being put on in a week "

So I am freakin the hell out and i try starting my car no avail, after a while it kinda starts up so I give it a little gas here and there, after a while of trying to start the car with the gas pedal floored the car comes back to life!

I rev the car up 3-4k for about 30 seconds and my car begins to sound normal again no more gurgling or bogging from the motor. Phew

Lesson learned: take different route to work.

I only goto work and school and I know where all the huge puddles are on campus, but those 2 huge ones today were new to me

Thinkin about when I get home is to modify my CAI into a shortram til next monday when i drop off the car

I cant wait till i get rid of my CAI and get my front mount on dont gotta worry about this as much hah

I believe that you should have both... or get the option to take off the arm and make it short ram on the fly. Especially for changing and shitty conditions in the North. If it's pretty bad outside and I know that I have to drive a while in the rain...I switch out the CAI for the short ram arm.

I have the aem cold air with the bypass valve, but I only installed half the intake piping for winter so its a short ram.
