Ok, I have been looking around the HRP pages to see if there are any events happening in June or July that would be worth having H-T members from all parts of Texas come down to Houston to meet. Unfortunately, we have only two choices if we want to do this while there is an event. Here they are:

June 1st(Saturday):
-We all go to the NHRA Summit Import Racing Series(Toyo Nationals). Event begins at 9am and ends later in the afternoon. http://www.houstonraceway.com/cal2000/hr06012002.htm
-At 4 or 5pm we all meet somewhere at Houston Raceway Park and then all together(so no one gets lost) over to Bear Creek Park or some park closer to the event.
-6pm will be the time of the Meet/BBQ at Bear Creek Park(or the park we ultimately decide upon) and it will end at 9:30pm.
-At 9:30pm we all head out to the corner of Gessner and Westheimer(strip center beside Sonic) and hang out and then afterwards head out to some races.
-Sunday will be finals of the Toyo Nationals at HRP.

July 13th(Saturday)
-We all go to the ID Drag Wars. Event begins at 12noon and ends later in the afternoon(3 or 4pm). http://www.houstonraceway.com/cal2000/hr07132002.htm
-At 3 or 4pm we all meet somewhere at Houston Raceway Park(HRP) and then all together(so no one gets lost) over to Bear Creek Park or some park closer to the event.
-5pm will be the time of the Meet/BBQ at Bear Creek Park(or the park we ultimately decide upon) and it will end at 9:30pm.
-At 9:30pm we all head out to the corner of Gessner and Westheimer(strip center beside Sonic) and hang out and then afterwards head out to some races.


Again, I feel these two days would be better for all Texas H-T members. PLus, it gives other people a reason to come down to Houston for something other than BBQ. I would like to see at least 30+ members show up for this if we plan on doing it. A week before the Meet, I will post the info again to remind everybody.

 

If we wanted to change the location to Dallas there is an autocross June 2ND @ Texas Motor Speedway?

 

We've never had a large Houston Meet, which is why its preferable to have it in Houston. I'm thinking the June date would be better, because the event is larger.

 

Sorry, drag racing wouldn't be enough to make me want to drive all the way to Houston.

How many were there? I almost went to the one last summer after the Hot Import Nights event, but my car was screwing up. I'm looking for over 30 members to show up to this one, if we can that is.

We are planning a TX meet in Austin later this month - will that work for you?

Maybe, are there any events during that time in Austin? Why not combine your meet later this month with the event on the June 1st. That way we can see the Drag event and have a combination of your group and the Houston group. The park that I am referring to is actually closer to Austin since its on the west side of town. It only takes 2 hours to get from this side of town to Austin.

 

Autocross is where it is at. Dallas Meet!
