Default Battery Problems or Alternator!!! Please Help Me H-Ters'

I got a stock 98 Hatch with a AEM intake. I just recently bought a new battery and my car is still dying on me. the light flashes on and off when i'm driving and sometimes stays on until i shut it off. everything was fine for about 2 days then this happened. can anyone tell me what my problem is? could it be my alternator? I also have a sound system, could it be this also?

update: when i turn on all my switches and stuff my kind of bogs like it wants to die but is hanging on to her life. is this a sign of the alternator?

could be the alternator... take it off and autozone will test for free

check all connections for your system to make sure the battery is not getting drained from that... Also make sure the remote for the amp is wired into the radio, so it only turns on when the car is on

While the car is running disconnect the positive from the battery. Most likely it will shut off because it sounds like your alternator is dead. Does the belt sqeek? do the lights dim with the bass from the music??

i dont know how my system is connected but i got a 10" W12 with a sony 600 watt amp. i dont think its the system becuase when im driving i shut off my stereo completely. and also the clock on my radio is off too...usually its still on when you turn it off.

i dont get no squeeks or anything like that....it kind of just slowly loses life.

but when i jumpstart it with a cable it starts fine, but again slowly loses life....what can it be? any one else got suggestions?

i hope its just the alternator!!!

why is you radio wires straight to the battery? who installed it? sounds like that might be your problem. off the back of the radio what color wire is ran directly to the battery? what type of head unit (cd player)? of the power wires on the back of the cd player
red= 12 volt constant wire
yellow= 12 volt ignition wire
black= ground wire
solid blue or blue with white stripe= amp remote wire

His amp is should be hooked directly up to the battery. Just go get the altinator checked. Or get a multimeter and do what you can yourself.
