I am trying to replace my valve cover gasket but the new one is really a problem getting in the groove. I don't know if its common for a new gasket to be oversized but this is quite a bit



is it normal? any suggestions? its a fel-pro gasket and im pretty sure its the correct part. the vehicle description matches on the box.

 

i usually put it on the car, and tighten the bolts snug and push the gasket in with a screwdriver... works everytime

 

it might look oversized but tis not once you get everything pushed in it will fit quite nicely if it is oem honda...if its not than ur stupid for not buying oem honda(not tryin to be an *** just nothing better than quality honda parts

 

go for it man. it will fit fine. they all look like that when they are brandnew. but the heat after awhile shrinks them down abit and then matches the groove much better...and that screw driver tatic mentioned above...really works....

 

this is way too loose, i don't know about you but when i am getting a new part, i am expecting it to fit. all my oem gasket fits like a glove.

what happen if you use a screwdriver is that the next time you pull it off the part that you push it will not go back the same way, most of the time you need to reseal it with silcone or new gasket.

have u checked to see if its the right one?

 

Have you put any liquid gasket on there to hold all the edges in place?

 

Go get another one, or try some RTV.
