Default Valve cover gasket

I have a 1988 Accord that I am trying to replace the valve cover gasket on. Is there a trick to doing this. The gasket sits nicely in the slot while the cover is upside down but when you turn it upside down to put it on it falls off. Even with two sets of hands, I can't keep it on.

I thought about using some sort of sealant to hold it on but I didn't know if this would cause problems with the rubber gasket.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

if you want, you could use just a tad bit of hondabond but not too much cause it might cause a gap.
