tps sensor broke on delivery... help!
Just finished up with an OBD2 b16 swap into a 96 hatch and the TPS sensor was broke when we received the motor. Can I use the sensor off my old d16y7? It has the same part number on it. If so, I read that it needs to read .5v at idle and then 4.5v at WOT. Its reading just the opposite
Right now when we fire it up, it starts but then dies

Some throttlebodies the action is clockwise and some are counterclockwise, Then you would have to match which way your's is.
Example: My gas pedal cable is pulled from the bottom of the pulley and would be counterclockwise. If yours pulls from the top then it would be clockwise.
Hope this makes sense to you...

this man is right. you even said that the voltage readings were backwards...just switch around the wires and its cool

Got the whole setup from Hmotors. I left a message with steve explaining some issues (nothing major, including the tps) yesterday morning but never got a call back. Cant be too picky since he threw in an lsd and jazma header for $200 lol<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by thesmogman »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Some throttlebodies the action is clockwise and some are counterclockwise, Then you would have to match which way your's is.

makes perfect sense. When I get off work Ill check this out. The idle seems ok but when I give it gas I can feel in the gas peddle (and hear it) choking a lot and only getting to around 3500k, then the knock sensor code comes on.
