Default Should I dump turbo in new rsx?

I just recently bought an Acura RSX Type-S, and i want to know if i were to put a turbo kit in, or intake hearders exhaust immediately if thats a bad idea. Im just scared that it will put me in the market for a new ride faster, and i dont want that. So what can i do that wont destroy my engine, but also make it fast?

Well if you get an exhaust and change your stock air filter to a K&N or similar equivalent you'll see some performance gain and will see no loss in the longevity of your vehicle. You won't be particularly fast, but you'll be very safe.

AEM makes excellent intakes. For header/exhaust, do you have the $$$ for an SMSP? Or at least an SMSP header...

doesn't sound like you'd be ready to install, handle, and maintain a turbo.

Knowing several people who recently purchased RSX's, get DC Sports i/h/e. They make the most power in their class, and will be very easy on your engine. Another thing, please do not run your car hard until you have run in 1000 miles, as to make sure the rings seat properly. Definitely no turbo until you have gotten a few miles on it. If you do go turbo, Greddy seems to be putting an awesome kit together. Very streetable.

u could tweak the suspension now and wait on the motor...to be kind to ur motor, Jackson Racing may have something in the making for u..their blowers are usually made to run on min. motor mods too not as much top end as a turbo..but still if their marketing is correct..were talking about 280HP *oh my*

Like any newly built engine ... need to let the motor wear in about 2k miles before taking things to the extreme ...... just wait till you change the oil the first time .. and after that .. the light turns green (;

revard did their turbo...and got somewhere around 225whp and 170 lb of torque(somewhere in there). They were quite disapointed..they said that their production turbo would push more Psi...Eitherway, i'm not too thrilled over their numbers. Since no one has been able to crack the RSX ECU yet, it's gonna be a while till we can get some major tuning done on the RSX. I'll be either turboing or super charging my car by the end of this year...i'm waiting for companies to come out w/ their kits and their dyno's. I'm working on the handling till i see some numbers that i'd like. If i were you, i'd wait.

In my opinion, if you are going to go turbo, you really should have bought a WRX. All of the RSX turbo kits are weak, plus you will be voiding your warranty immediately. Just something to think about.

I am going to have to agree. There was a WRX at this auto-X I went too last weekend with I/E, upgraded turbo + unichip, and a boost controller. It was unreal. This thing was so freakin' fast it was scary. And all of that power out of a boxer 4. The guy was putting down about 340hp to the wheel after dyno tuning.

I don't think an RSX will be able to support much more than stock boost, and what is the point of spending all that money for an RSX just to try and rebuild it for turbo. Can't beat factory forced induction.
