with money anything can be accomplished, but it would be cheaper to trade in your dx and just get an si just my 2 cents!!

Truth...

honestly the si/ fg body style is so new that it's pointless to do a "si conversion" right now.

Swap in a K20a if you do, or switch the z3 to Cable in the process.

A smarter move would be to swap in a k24

You'll have more displacement and less morons saying "Should have bought the Si"

you'll lose money doing both things, but i agree trading in is better

a k20a is going to run you around $5500....in that cause "you shoulda just bought an si" because its going to be more expensive and only a 20hp difference...not sure how muh the z3s go for now...and its not really that hard to find an si...you just have to look...the 06 are too new to swap anythinginto...unless that is you completely dont care about warranty or trade in value.

I highly doubt the price different between an SI and a DX is 10,000
5-6,000 at most.

IMO, doing a motor swap to make your car like one that is currently being sold is a mistake. I can understand it if you can no longer buy the car new. But, currently you can and it would be more cost effective.

Honestly I too have thought about swaping engines..I have an 06 LX, and everyone I tell that i wanna drop the K20 into it, all i hear is "Get an Si" honestly Id like to have a Lx with an Si motor. Its a lot less revieling if you are trying to make your car fast, but not as noticiable. I would spend the 5k to do the swap just to keep my car looking like a Lx but running like an Si! and after the swap you can finally either go with the turbo or supercharger, take your pick. Its all about how much you wanna spend

and son if you must swap try a k24 block on a k20 head and see what you get.

i was planning on swapping to the SI motor sometime down the future

i have an ex sedan right now , the CSX type S here in Canada should be a direct drop in with mounts and such

only prob would be finding a smashed up one lol

i'm leaning towards waiting for a turbo set up tho as you could always up grade the turbo later down the road

I believe the R18 kit should be out between next month and January.

Dont worry man, all these SI people that tell you....buy an si , will be jealous when you will swap a more powerful engine ! i too im looking to swap into my dx....a nice K20A will make you happy !

i have a difference about 8000$ cdn between my car (DX-G) and the SI... i got a good deal on my car, and the K20A is bout 5-6$K USD...6 SPD LSD Hydraulic, 11.5 ratio, redline 8400 220hp/158lb-ft @ 8/7 .....

vs. civic si at 197hp 139 @ 6100 8000 redline , comp ratio is same....

and it will fit.... since i think Spoon already did this if im not mistaken
