Dash lights don't work
my dash board, climate, and shifter lights don't work when I turn the head lights on. The fuse is good and I changed the bulbs still nothing. What else could it be? I can use your help, thanks a thousand times!
poss bad dimmer control. turn the lights on work the dimmer switch see if they come one. Check your fuse for the rear tail lights / interior lights. Did you mess around with the stereo be for this problem happened?
I haven't messed with the stereo an after market cd player was put in that was our next move. Besides looking for any loose wire should there be something else I should. Thanks alot for you taking the time to help
I did check the fuses and the tail lights all work I even replaced the fuse to try anything and everything works except when I turn on the head lights or parking lights the dash lights don't work along with the vent control lights and the shifter lights don't light up. I had a inkling that it could be the stereo because it is aftermarket and I didn't install it. But I would think that surely they would have bought a wiring harness instead of cutting and splicing. I am at a loss I would even go to the extent of buying a new instrament panel if I new that it would work but man if it didn't I am afraid I'm might snap. It is cool that you are helping your assistance is greatly appreciated
I think we can rule out the stereo if the dimmer wiring going to the stereo were the problem (grounding out) you would have a blown fuse for the tail lights and that also cause you to have no dash lights. You might want to pull the stereo and just check and see if the harness was cut. I would pull the dimmer switch now and check it with a volt meter see if you have power there

My little brothers 4-door LX had the the same exact problem... Everything worked except the Gauge cluster, claimat Controls, and shift lights (P, R, N, D, D3, etc)... When we played arond with the little circuit board in the dimmer they would go on then go off again... He bought a used OEM dimmer switch and now they go on fine....
