All Motor GTi
Well, went out to Virginia Motorsports Park and finally got some 'clean' runs in. Best of the night was a 13.1 @ 102.55mph. this is with a 3.94 final drive (3.39 is stock), peloquin LSD, and 6-puck clutchnet disk. the car is now SLOWER than it was a few months ago with a completely stock tranny. The motor is now consuming 1qt of oil every 2-300 miles or so. i was pulling 1.7s all night, driving it hard and there was nothing i could do to make it run any quicker. no 12s for me untill the head and/or bottom end gets re-built. guess it'll happen some other time

http://sevenfivesevendubs.com/RJ/M4V00403.MP4 i believe this was a 13.2 pass (rippin on a Fox body with the tag "SS EATER" (dunno what that was all about )
http://sevenfivesevendubs.com/RJ/M4V00404.MP4 running an LS/Turbo Hatch on 16 psi, 205 street tires, untuned he ran a 12.7 @ 118! next to my 13.1 @ 102 (this was the best pass of the night), i cut a good light on him while he was sleeping and made for a GOOD close race, beat him by between a hood and bumper length.
http://sevenfivesevendubs.com/RJ/M4V00406.MP4 another 13.1 on a 1.7 60ft, all by my lonesom...
overall, i had a good time, but i am dissapointed. i DO believe there is a LOW 1.7, high 1.6 60ft to be had, that would just take a lil more work to get down on the 10 year old 22s... Car weighs 2350 with driver and makes an estimated 185whp. like i said, i think whatever is causing me to burn so much oil is now putting me down on power. the car runs the same times with a built tranny as it did with a stock one.

Im runnin a 92 slc bottom end, stock obd2 head, schrick 268 cams, schrick valve springs, titanium retainers, ported exhaust manis, Giac chip (stock ecu), no ac, no p/s, 4 cylinder 4 lug brakes, 4 cylinder stock axles, lsd, 3.94 R&P, clutchnet 6-puck, and a fair amount of weight reduction.
wonder what it would do with a ported head, high comp pistons, a long tube header, 288 cams and a custom intake.
low 12's should be no problem possibly 11's if ur almost in the 12's with where u sit now.

yeah, i plan on porting the head and picking up a set of 23 inch slicks along with ripping alot more weight out of it. as far as header and cams go. the aftermarket headers on the market have proved 0 gains (some have brought losses). ive debated trying out a set of 288s, this may be something in store for next season. as of now, i have no plans to build up a bottom end, 90% + of the gains to be had with this motor are in freeing up the head. realisticly, even limping as it is, with a few shift point changes and a few more passes with the tranny built up, it ought to go 12.9 or better no problem. i also plan on doing some work with the upper intake mani internally as well as gasket matching everything. combined with the amount of weight reduction that will be occuring in the off season, be looking for quicker times come early spring
