buzzing from my pcv and bad gas milage
my pcv valve is buzzing. I replaced it and the air filter. About a day later I noticed it again. I tested the vacuum and am getting 22 Hg which is what the manual says it should be (between 17 and 22 healthy engine). It idles a little rough. The IAC is make a popping noise when i increase the throttle. This could be proper operation, but I'd like conformation. maybe the screen is dirty?
also there is a rattle that only happens when i'm driving. It's coming from just in front of the steering colum when I drive. I can't replicate in idle. It's either some valve or something loose. the rattle will increase some with acceleration.
I getting about 24 mpg
oh I have a stock 94 accord ex coupe with the VTEC 2.2. 162,000 miles.
Thanks,
Tim

Thanks. Mine's an auto and I was getting 26 in the city. recently I was getting 16. I changed the transmission flud and got and 8 mpg boost. I believe the silly jiffy lube people only put 2 quarts in instead of 2.5. I read that will cause serious gas milage loss. also while changing my Oxygen sensor out I noticed my full filter had been initialled about 10 times. I also read they are in a class action law suit for not changing parts and charging for them. If you find a respectible one that is awesome, but just beware.
mostly the buzzing of the pcv causes concern. I'm happy with the 24 mpg gas milage being that it is getting a little old.

I usually run to Mieneke for all my car repair needs. I trust Mieneke, and Mieneke employs ASE certified technicians, while Jiffy Lube hires people off the street. You might also want to invest in a K&N air filter or intake kit. I installed a drop-in K&N filter and my fuel economy jumped from 20mpg city to 22.6mpg city due to the increased airflow.
You're both talking about big chains... they'll be different anywhere you go.
And btw, I know of atleast a dozen retards that are ASE certified. I went to school with them.
edit: Your mileage isn't that bad, I'm getting about 25-26 and mine is a 5spd.
