Please Read need more help
Ok here is my setup: 89 crx dx, stock DPFI. Under 50,000 miles, My car quit running while driving down the highway at 80 mph. , just bogged out when I tryed to accelerate. When I pulled over it died instantly. I tryed to start it and nothing happened. I towed it home, and tryed to start it again, but this time it fired but only on clylinder #1 and maybe one more cylinder. But im not sure why it wont fire an all cylinders.
Things I have replaced: Coil, Rotor, Cap, Plugs, Plug wires. I even tryed a different dizzy and still nothing.
I checked compression and everything was in specs. I also did a valve job on it to see if that was the prob. The ECU is good. I checked the resistance of the injectors and they were in specs to. Also I took the plugs out and Checked to see that my spark was stong enough and it was. I also checked to see if the timing was on, and it was. When at TDC the rotor was rite where it should be.
Any help would be great, this car is my DD and I'm without a vehicle now. thanks.

I havent done a fuel pressure test yet, wont be able until I go home again this weekend. But im assuming that I am because there is fuel at the injectors. also the exhaust smells of fuel...

Almost the exact same thing happend to my mom. She was driving her 89 si hatch, on a back country road and then the car suddenly died. She said it was making some funny clicking noise. We towed it home and got looking at it, Check for spark on the plugs, the whole 9 yards, and then we check the timing and it skiped a few teeth. That may be your problem.
I hope I helped a little

The timing should be good because I turned the #1 cylinder to TDC and the rotor on the dizzy was pointing to the #1 termanial on the cap. So I think the timing is ok, also the belt is in good condition, no evidence of jumping timing. thanks for the help so far guys. Anyone else have any imput?

You might want to change igniter in dizzy. Your symptoms are characteristic of that going bad. Will work then will not work. You did say you changed dizzy, did that mean using old igniter or a different one. Good luck. You might want to look at main relay also.
I havent done a fuel pressure test yet but i plan on doing one when i get home, as far as the dizzy i put a different one on and it did change anything. thanks for everyones help so far. any other info or things i should look for?
