I just recently got an Apexi turbo timer installed.


The turbo timer works and all but the 02 sensor reading is off.


The reading seems to go from anywhere from 4.30 (cold) to 1.15 (when warm) It doesnt make any sense to me. It is suppose to read somewhere between 0v and 1.0v not anything above..Anyways, the A/F LED will flash red/green and have "----" on the screen.

This is obd1, and it has been grounded to the ecu as well as the white wire to the o2 sensor wire. I followed APEXi's instructions and now I'm stuck. any ideas? Which one is the correct o2 sensor? I based it as the 5th wire (white) on the rear most harness clip (closest one to you when you unplugg ecu)


any help would be appreciated.


i dont care it if is not accurate or not, its just that the feature is there and its not working correctly.

Unless you have wideban o2, it will not be accurate.

No, I'm referring to the timer is not reading correct REGARDLESS of it is accurate or not. It doesn't show a number which means it is not even reading it.

 

If you get 1.15 when its warm, your oxygen sensor is probably messed up. How is your gas milage??? Also, when its warm, if you go into the first bar which is the A/F, you should get a reading. In your case, it should be running very rich. For you, your A/F ratio would probably be 10:1 or lower cause the oxygen sensor voltage is 1.15.

 

well it was strange. The o2 sensor didnt warm up untill i started driving on the freeway? Anyways, it was working fine when I was driving to san jose. It was reading 10.3 and the voltage was ranging from .5 to 1.02 or so. I was reading the apexi instructions and it says "-----" means the o2 sensor is not warmed up.

I guess my o2 sensor doesnt warm up fast enough? I'm not too sure why that is. I guess it was just worth a shot to ask. I mean the main purpose of the timer was just to turn off my car.

If the A/F ratio is 10.3, then your computer is probably chipped, your fuel regulator is set higher than stock or your oxygen sensor is messed up. You should try and use one from a friend that is working and you should get a different result. My A/F ratio is 14.4-14.7 when im crusing down the highway. It should at least be over 14.

The oxygen sensor voltage also makes sense since the higher the number the richer the car is running.
