01 ITR 848 is totalled :-(
Hi guys,
I got in an accident last weekend and the insurance agency has deemed my car totalled. Its a real shame b/c I've only had the car for 3 mo. and really loved it. It took me 6 years to find one that had not been modified. I'm going to try to fine another one to replace it.
At any rate, I plan on buying the car back. It is a 2001, FBP. The front end is messed up pretty bad, but the engine still runs and the rest of the car is pretty much mint.
Does anyone know how much I could get if I sold the car totalled?
TIA

For all of you interested. I do not plan to part it out right now. I will most likely keep the front seats, shift ****, cd player, rear speakers (and maybe the armrest to remember the car by).

When my 2000 ITR was totalled I bought it back for $3500 and parted it out. I was able to sell everything, even the shell and I sold everything for about $9500.
It really depends, mileage and condition of all parts and depending on how hard the impact was if it bent any framerails and such. FWIW I bought a totalled car and brought it back to life for a track car. The frame rails were not damaged at all and I fixed the front end rather cheaply. If you can get any pics, we could take a look at it for ya and go from there. It would have cost less than 2k for me to fix mine. Find someone selling a USDM front end who wanted to go JDM and they want to recoupe a little cost. They can be had for around 8-900 plus shipping. GL either way, sorry to hear what happened.
Yeah, Dave B's track ITR is a great example of a front end crash brought back to life. Don't be too quick to just part heR out.

Sorry to hear of the accident, hope nobody was seriously hurt! Good luck with whatever you do!

if local and the price is right I'll take her home. My lil bro is looking for a new project. And I have a complete spare front sitting here. Black and py might look good toghter.
I was making a left out of my neighborhood and didn't see a car coming from the left. (I did look both ways before proceeding but must have not seen the guy coming from the left after I looked to the right) I pulled out and we collided. I'm not exactly sure how it all happened, but after I pulled I remember feeling the car make an almost 180 degree turn from the impact. Both airbags deployed, the front end got pushed in and the hood crinkled. Like I said I'll try to post pics to give an idea of the damage.

are you sure you want to get another R then? i mean...hell if the car somehow warped into place and hit your car hard enough to wreck it, perhaps you should leave these limited vehicles unmolested for some one else...
uNF$@#!, Not sure what you're talking about, but ok. The exit of my neighborhood has limited visibilty and I guess I just didn't see the guy coming.
highroller54, I'm in NC.

I agree. As long as the frame isn't bent you should be able to repair it.

Where are you from? I might be interested in buying the car....

Sorry to hear about your car. When you get the numbers back from your insurance company please let me know what you want for the car as it sits. It may be a fun project to restore over time. We have to keep as many ITR's on the road as possible.

Even if its a little bent it can be straightened by any reputable collision shop just as long as it wasn't crushed .
