I'll be at AJP on the morning of the 22nd for my turbo kit install!!! Woot woot!
They'll be installing my kit (similar to Marvie's, but a few changes that I requested), full 3" exhaust and a few runs on the dyno.

Yeah. 306whp @ 4.5psi.
My goal is 10psi and I've been talking with them and things are looking really good. I've been quoted at just over 400whp @ 10psi

Actually I'm not doing any building of the motor. And no intention of it for a while. That's the beauty of boost...you can turn it up and down.

 

true, u can turn boost up and down. but when its turned up to 10psi, at 11:1 compression, u are going to run into some problems down the line. 400whp sounds a bit high for a stock block. im not too familiar with the boost capacity of a k series block but that just sounds awfully high.

if it can go that high and hold that boost, then hells yea! what kinda price range are u looking at for the kit? how much for install? and what are they tuning it with?

it's not the HP number u have to worry about ....

what u need to worry about is the TQ number... that's what will hurt u badly..

anything nearing 250whp or above and u are in the high danger zone!!!

so if u looking at 400whp and 230wtq u ok ...

it's just that it doesn't give u much security... if for some reason u have a slight boost spike or whatever then u don't have much room to pay to prevent a blow up ...

torque is what hurts the engine the most... ofcourse HP does too... but 400 is ok... pass that and u asking for trouble..

i'll be at 10 psi as well i'll be done before he get's down here for his appointment... i'll post my numbers and graphs.

im still wondering about how much for the kit itself. i can put it in, unless there is something UBER complex about it. putting anything on the new si seems to be way more complicated than it shd have been.

someone needs to pm me a price on the kit, and how much for install in case i dont feel like f-in with it, and what kinda program u are using to tune it. very interested. planning on sellin my hatch so i can afford a turbo

i can tell u however that management is controlled via a hondata reflash that is kit specific.

10 PSI on an engine with 11:1 compression sounds scary. I assume this kit has a inter-cooler? I don't know much about turbo's, but thermal dynamics tells me 10psi is going to really heat up that motor.

Wow, 4.5psi is getting 306whp? That is impressive. My supercharger produces a sustained 4psi and I am only getting 250wph. However, I am not running a header so that might be part of it.

Does the reflash increase the rev limiter? If so, are you going to replace your springs and retainers?

Just interested, for some reason in my head, 400whp in the this motor equates to a scattered engine in 3 months.

But then again, I only investigated the supercharger option. If Comptech releases a new set of pulleys that increased the boosted to a sustained 6psi, I know I am going to have to have some additional engine work done.

I love the power, but I want still want my car to last 100,000 miles as well.

it has a supercharger...
10psi is nothing for the K motor with proper tuning to match.

400whp is fine granted ur wtq. is not exceeding 250....tq. is what you should pay more attention to cuz it has the most effect on the motor....

it will last 100, 000 miles if i want it to....depends on how often u beat on it and how u keep up with the maintenance.
