I beg to differ.. I have a new stock repl cat and did the O2 sensor too. I have checked my timing and plugs and my A/f ratio. all good and normal.
But when I run it up to redline a couple of times in a row it does stink like egg's or a bad fart!
Does it with cheap gas and good gas. 76, chevron, am-pm all the same degree of stink. So I have been at a loss to find the stinking problem.
I have tried timing, plug gap, and gas??? who know's
And I just checked for an MC leak to booster to IM. No brake fluid in the booster line. So that can't be it either.
Any more sugg's? I would like to get to the bottom of this.
Maybe at WOT it is leaning out? I haven't driven with an a/f meter hooked up.

Not saying it's necessarilly the problem with your car, but classically, a constant sulfur smell is the sign of a bad cat. Not so much a problem now-a-days, since we have sensors that check the performance of it, and alert you before it can ever get that bad.

Do you have any oil or coolant leaks on the back of the block that may drip down onto the exhaust pipe? Does your car have any performance issues other than smelling crappy?

What octane do you use? Are you in an area where they have like 85 octane, or gasahol? When I was driving cross-country, there were a couple places (Idaho, for one), that had 85 octane, and 89 was gasahol.

Fresh fish doesn't smell like anything but the ocean. Fresh fish are supposed to have clear, shiney eyes, firm flesh, glossy scales, and smell like a fresh ocean breeze.
Now once it's past it's prime, that's when it smells "fishy."
