Default putting stock suspension back in

I bought a 90 integra that had lowering springs in it. I am putting the stock springs back in but the spring/shock seam to be too long. I cant get front lower control arm down low enough to put the suspension fork in. I detached the sway bar but still not enough. What am I missing?

You probably need to compress the springs.

but there isnt really any room to compress the springs while in the car. Is that what people do?

There is room...I've removed at least 6 first gen suspensions in the junkyard and there isn't much room but there is some...

Another method would be to detach the lower control arm from the subframe...that would give you plenty of room... to work
