Here are the part numbers and visual comparisons b/w the older Honda (larger) oil filters, and the newer Honda (tall and thin) oil filters for the K-series and newer Civics, and the lil' green trash cans (HAMP).

damn i just saw some blue ones at the Honda dealership at Costa Mesa.
the big blue ones said "made in canada" on the bottom...so i'm guessing
those are the fram ones people were talkin about...
some people seem to like the small hamp ones alot...
are all of them small?
what are the main advantages of them over the fram ones...
don't the new blue ones have that cardboard filter paper ****?

HAMP filters are offered in standard and shorter sizes. Shorter to increase oil pressure (race use only). Look up some name JEFFNA? He might still have them for sale.

the short big ones are made in both Canada and USA. Canadian ones are Fram. I always specify USA ones made by Filtech when I go to the dealer.
