Just put in my USDM ITR cluster..need some help
Hey, I purchased a USDM ITR cluster, and I've got some weird issues, wanted to know if any of you guys could be of some help.
It's going into my 01 gsr, running an obd1 computer if that makes any difference.
Anyway, the tach works fine, same as speedo, the two problems im having are:
Once the key is turned to ACC or ON, the temp gauge pegs H, and doesn't move at all. Also, when I turn the turn signal for left, the indicator comes up for the right, and vice versa. When I flash the high beams, the high beam indicator as well as both turn signal indicators illuminate.
Hope this is just a silly bulb issue or something, anyone got some advice?

if your cluster isn't from an 00 or 01 ITR then the green film on the back of it will be mapped differently than the pinout of your gauge cluster plugs. sounds like a grounding issue.
if you swap the green film on the back of the ITR cluster out for the film off your original 01 GSR cluster, it will work fine.

Sorry to bring it back...
The speedometer needle is acting pretty finicky, it's very delayed in response and movement...and moves erratically...anyone have any insight? I had to mess with the mileage a bit to match the car's mileage, no illegal activities going on, just a cluster swap. In doing so the needle had to be removed, I re-aligned it a few times, and was working fine earlier, once I put the black needle cap on this began.

there's your problem. sucks that it will probably always be like that now.

try and repeat your process of removing and putting back the needle until you see improvement. the guage is pretty sensitive and is calibrated. once you start messing around with the needle or mileage, you run the risk of throwing everything off. if all fails, then you might have to spend the money to go fix it at a shop that specializes in gauge cluster repair...and they are NOT cheap
Just got everything back in order.
I put the car up on stands, removed the needle, hooked up the datalogger to Neptune and brought the car up to 25 mph. Reinstalled the needle, and voila. In all honesty, it reads about 1 mph too high on the cluster, but it's no biggy, they're always off a bit anyways.
Thanks everyone for the help
