Guage Cluster lights work sometimes... new bulbs?
My gauge cluster lights work fine most of the time, but a few weeks ago ONLY one side of the cluster went out. The fuel gauge and a little bit of the speedo are dark, but teh left side is still lit and works fine. I can dim them and make em brighter no problem.
Anyway this happend a few weeks ago, then one night it worked again for about a week. Now the same side is dark again.
Are there bulbs behind the cluster? how do you change them? and why would it work, then not work, then work again, then not work again....maybe its not the bulb? anyone ever had this problem?

i just did mines you have 3 leds behind the cluster the cost about 60c each plus resistors at 40c each very simple swap took me 10 min
as soon as you take your cluster off you will see the leds i am talking about

Wouldn't be the dimmer the dimmer is placed in series with the lights while the lights are in parallel. Most likely you have a bad bulb. I would just replace the bulb or bulbs. They usually come in a set of two. If you don't think it is the bulb for some reason you can just buy a set of bulbs don't open the box and just move the known good bulb to the side that isn't working check to see if it lights up and if it it does problem solved, and you have the bulbs right there.

those bulbs are 194 or 168 ... i just installed some amber 194 for my guage cluster. i had the red ones in there, but looked pinkish. amber looks dope!<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Tonyl507 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">My gauge cluster lights work fine most of the time, but a few weeks ago ONLY one side of the cluster went out. my guess is bad bulbs.. .if not that, then faulty wiring.
to get behind the guage cluster... unscrew the two screws on the upper part of the guage housing, remove housing
undo the 3 screws that hold the cluster in place... now you don't necessarily need to unplug the harnesses, but you can just twist the cluster around so you can see where the 194/168 bulbs go.
