Default weird temp readings =-(

The temp gauge on my crx is acting weird. It will be normal but after a while temp will jump from the middle straight to the top, back to bottom etc. I know the engine itself is not getting too hot. Anyone has any idea why its doing this?? Thanks.

I had this problem and posted it on a different forum.
The response I got was to change the "Thermo Unit". I haven't done this yet, i just unplugged the sender so that the gauge doesn't get jacked up. As soon as I get a chance to run to the parts store I'll get it fixed. Part costs about $25 and takes two minutes to change out. (or so I'm told)
